Today, our community mourns the loss of Chris Moose Lindsey a very dedicated member of the Town of Newport Fire Department, who served with distinction for over 20 years. Although Chris retired from active duty a few years ago, his legacy continued to inspire, and he remained a familiar presence at the fire station, camera in hand. Chris's impact on the department was profound, encompassing both the solemnity of emergency responses and the camaraderie of community events, such as the frog jumps. Through my own experiences growing up within the department, I came to regard Chris as a trusted mentor and friend. His passing leaves a lasting void, and we extend our sincerest sympathies to Debbie, Brian, Teasa, and their extended families.
